The Straight Poop
This is a blog about poop—dog poop specifically. Why dog poop you ask? Admittedly, this is not a subject most people chat about around the dinner table, but for dog parents and siblings, proper poop etiquette is not only important, but a necessity.
According to the American Pet Products Association, as of 2020, dog ownership had reached 63.4 million households with a population of 89.7 million dogs in the US. As the population of dogs grows, dog poop complaints rise accordingly. This ownership boom has increased the need for pet waste control by property owners and property management companies. Homeowners Associations (HOA), multifamily housing communities and single family homeowners are demanding dog owners clean up after their pets or face the repercussions of noncompliance.
In the not-so-distant past, identifying the culprits was all but impossible unless there was an eye witness to the “crime.” Fortunately, there is a solution. DNA technology is able to identify the poopetrators and hold the owners accountable and that is what the Poop and Run blog is all about.
